Our latest Wine Room is below. Prior to remodel, one area was a Wine counter with storage on back wall for wines bottles. The other area around was used as a butler’s counter.

All cabinetry was removed, including the supporting column at the corner. The area was reconfigured for a wine room with its own temperature controlled unit. The floor was raised, walls were covered with a brick veneer and the framing around room is all metal clad wood-beams and posts. Custom glass and metal doors with matching ladder style handles finished the look.

The wine storage system is from https://cablewinesystems.com/ The system we used presents a very clean display. The lighting we installed in room also helps in showcasing the entire unit.

Before the Remodel

The first pictures shows the area where the Walk in cooler used to be. The second picture shows the Wine Room Completed.

This was a complete kitchen remodel and the owners decided to add a wine closet or room right in this area. The walk in cooler is a modular piece that you buy and assemble (or disassemble) in a short period of time. After, it left an opening good enough for a cabinet or shelves, but the clients had a better idea in mind.

As we’ve mentioned before, installing a cooler requires adding electrical power and air conditioning to maintain a constant temperature in any room. Also, the room has to be properly insulated to keep temperature constant around wines.

Once cooler was removed, the electrical and AC work had to get laid out in existing framing. The room was drawn to accommodate different wine storage systems, while also maximizing the size of room.

The picture above shows the room already framed in. The upper part of area is now closed off, of course it holds wiring and ducts that will feed and support the room.

The Design of Wine Room

The walls will be covered with tile and once this area is finished, the Wine Racks will fit perfectly in their niches. The rack was custom designed and made for this particular room. This is only 1 of 2 Wine Units that we are currently building.

The bottles rest on a custom shelving unit. Based on suggestions from the owner – Pictures they saw on internet or Pinterest We commissioned a metal shop here in town SRS . Based on our drawings and design, they set out to produce the shelf unit.

The walls in room where covered with a beautiful gray tile and with its vertical lines, they provide a great contrast to the straight horizontal lines of the metal.

To provide a frontal view of a few bottles – we created this attachment that locks into the horizontal bars and the weight of the bottle balances perfectly to show the bottle with label on face.
