Concrete Pad is Next
On our Total landscape remodel, after digging trenches and burying plumbing lines, conduit for electrical wire and additional sleeves, now comes the next part. Not the concrete, but preparation of dirt, and soil for the Concrete Pad to go on. Of course it isn’t as easy as just leveling the dirt and laying rebar.
The dirt has to be compacted first, then there are additional layers of dirt, gravel, and sand.
Depending on the area, a moisture barrier may also be part of the preparation. Additional compacting is done for each layer. Throughout the process, a soils expert has to inspect the compaction to ensure that layers of dirt are ready for concrete.
The first pictures are of the area where the pool casita will be. Utility lines are in place; plumbing, electrical and gas for the BBQ.
Next comes the rebar and forms to shape the edges and ends of concrete, steps and curves are formed and ready.
The pictures below show the deck next to the pool. After compaction, before rebar and with rebar laid out.
The next step will be the pour of concrete for entire area. Pool deck, casita pad and walkways on side of house. After concrete is poured it will be a few days before we can get on concrete, protect it and begin work on casita, pool tiling and landscaping. More pictures to follow.
