Project began early last year and the Interior Remodel Completed last month. This project is a perfect example of good organization, and good communication between the clients, our subs and our team.
The clients living in house during the remodel presented a few challenges since we moved their “living quarters” from one area of the house to the next during each stage of the remodel. At the same time, having them around during remodel was helpful since they could offer their input on progress at any time. This progress also allowed for the addition of new items to scope without interrupting the already scheduled work.
The areas of work
The remodel took us throughout the entire home. From end to end, On the West end the family room and at the other end, the Master Bath. Each area had something getting worked on. For instance in the family room, lights at ceiling had to be re arranged, the fireplace needed a new wall, breakfast nook was completely redone and windows had to be replaced.

The Breakfast nook in itself had many areas that were redone. A banquette was tucked against the walls with the windows starting right above seating area. Once banquette was removed, The walls had to be re-framed for new windows. This meant we had to find stone to match existing stone flooring. As usual, our friends at Nevada Stone & Tile did an amazing job matching and then laying the tile, not just in this area but all around the project.
The Living Room
Perhaps the centerpiece of this interior remodel is the fireplace in the living room. It is a massive wall from floor to the peak at vaulted ceiling. We looked at every detail in area to achieve an absolutely stunning finished wall.

This wall as it existed was rather impressive due to its height. The designer and client wanted a whole new wall with a new fireplace. Stacked stone like any other stone requires additional bracing due to its weight, so the framing had to be reinforced since the new wall would be holding stone slabs.

The seating area around old fireplace is gone. The fireplace was lowered close to the Finished Floor and framed with the same stone as the walls. Notice the twisted metal at ceiling beams has now been covered with a wood box, mimicking ceiling beams. The next pictures show some of the details on this fireplace wall.

The Rest of the interior remodel
The kitchen got new counters and a new island countertop of a very impressive size. There were also some additional lights added to ceiling and pendants were removed.

The powder room got a complete makeover, from floor to ceiling. The finished room is amazing.

The Master Closet also got a new look.

Picture above is of closet before remodel. Now look at new appearance.

This was another project where all involved, including the clients, put their best effort day in and day out. The finished product is something we are very proud of. We will be returning, to fine tune small details, or to plan put the next stage of remodel. Did I mention that the landscaping was redone too? Material for another post.
